Richfield Minnesota Food
Richfield Public Schools has been making national headlines lately, and I'm curious to see what's happened. Unfortunately, I am not privy to all the good work that is being done in our schools. There are Indian grocery stores throughout the Twin Cities metro line, but I haven't been to an Indian grocery store in Los Angeles in a long time. Perhaps Southern California has only a larger southern Indian population, and the relative proximity of these two large farms suggests that there has been a regional split all along. It is possible, of course, that the northern suburbs are as diverse as the southern suburbs of the metro area, which have not yet been studied. In fact, Richfield, as in other parts of Minnesota, has Indian food shops. Grace Jennings owns Grace's Indian Grocery, a local grocery chain, and also co-owns and owns a restaurant in the town of St. Paul.
But it is true that there now seems to be greater national integration of Indian grocery stores in the US than there was in India. In the early 2000s, we saw an expansion of South Indian ingredients in Colorado, and in the last decade, this phenomenon has solidified in Minnesota. It is very interesting to see how the changing patterns of food production and consumption of South Indian food in this country, especially in California, have changed the experience of "Indian grocery stores" in our US and influenced our sense of Indian food.
The Metro in the south, in particular, has a growing number of grocery stores, many of which seem to serve the southern Indian population. What is missing compared to the much larger Pooja Groceries are freshly prepared snacks, fresh fruit and vegetables, and a wide selection of spices and spices.
If you look at the pictures of the vegetable department, you might wonder what kind of vegetables they are. Pacific Veggie Pizza, for example, is crowded, and one has no idea under what conditions the fish are harvested, what the state of India's fisheries is, or what the diaspora's dietary needs are impacting on India's market environment. The Indian markets, where vegetable markets in the USA are growing, are a marvel.
